Fighting Back Against Negative Energy
Negative energy is real. As real as electricity, magnetism, and gravity, none of which you can see but all of which have an effect on you.
Negative energy is projected by negative people – or more accurately lost people who are angry because they don’t know who they are or what they are for. Such people always come together in groups, because the group offers what they have been missing – purpose and meaning to their existence. Negative energy loves groups, feeding equally well on activist mobs as it does on political parties.
Negative energy is dangerous, even to happy-go-lucky, smiling souls, because it poisons the well from which we all drink, discolours the air we all breathe and infects the very heart of life, our relationships with others.
One of the characteristics of negative energy is that it is deceitful, and trades in lies and half-truths. It specialises in taking good intentions and twisting them to its own destructive ends. Negative energy can therefore lurk in the most unlikely places and be notoriously hard to identify…
But identify it we must, by asserting our free-thinking individuality. Everyone is unique. Everyone has their own path and own part to play within the tapestry of life, and each person can only do this their way. In order for this to happen each person has to break the spell of our age – the illusion of WE.
One of the most common phrases heard within modern spirituality is that WE ARE ONE. This is excellent opening line for the lost and the lonely for it is true - BUT ONLY ON ONE LEVEL, and when it is misunderstood it becomes the portal to hell.
We ARE One, but only at the level of our Souls, beyond our personality and our body. And on the material level we are very much NOT one. Both these things are true, WE ARE ONE, in the sense of being connected at a higher level, yet WE ARE SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT in the sense that I am writing these words and you are not, that I am sitting at my desk and you are sitting at yours, or are reading this on your phone. This separation between you and me is the thing which so many people want to rub out, but is, I suggest, a gift we should embrace, not something we should try to deny.
It is a bit of a paradox, because though WE ARE ONE, we are also very clearly SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT.
WE ARE ONE, as a statement by itself which is meant to cover all bases and apply to all cases, simply does not work, either in theory or practice. In fact, it is highly dangerous because it leads people to neglect or abandon their individual gifts and talents. This, in turn, produces stagnation and sameness.
But WE ARE SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT, as a statement by itself to cover all bases applies to no cases because it propagates fear, conflict, and division. No man, or woman, is an island.
This knowledge is crucial for dealing with negative energies because the number one place where negative energy thrives is in groups, for these are the go-to-places for those who do not possess, or seek to deny, individuality and uniqueness.
It always goes the same way in groups, and it does not matter whether we are talking about the Conservative Party, the Labour Party, or XR; the Republicans, the Democrats or BLM, or in fact any other group of any kind, of any size, at any point in history, past, present or future. A group, because it is the place where lost people go to hide, easily becomes a vortex for negativity in the form of hate, resentment, grievance, and grudge. When left locked up inside individuals, these emotions can do limited harm, but when combined in the group then 2 + 2 = 5 and that negativity easily becomes more than the sum of its parts. Pain and suffering can be caused by the crazed loner, but it is much more often caused by the mob, the crusade, the movement, the group, or the party.
Now this is not to say that nothing good can ever come from a group. Of course it can, but it only will if the individuals who make up the group are of good energy in the first place. And if they are not, if they come to the group lost, dispirited, angry, full of hate, unaware of their purpose and devoid of any sense of uniqueness then the group will be the place where they will act out their negativity. The group, either explicitly or implicitly, will give them the leeway to do things they would never dream of doing as individuals.
This happens because as groups develop, they take on a life of their own. It is not a matter of poor leadership. People mistakenly believe that groups are directed by their members, or leaders, but nothing could be further from the truth. The group energy, once it has developed, directs all the individuals involved, taking the emotions that the individuals have contributed to the group and directing them outwards in ways no one would have ever thought possible. Some people claim that their group structure is non-hierarchical, organic, and self-organising, which is just another way of saying that the members have no control over what the group energy does. Such a group may be fairly called a mob.
The only way to fight back again growing mob mentality is to withdraw from it. I don’t mean pretend it doesn’t exist, but to purposefully proclaim that “I am not part of this”. If you do this vocally, in the company of others, you may get some grief as the group energy hisses back at you, but this is the price of living; we have to fight to stay alive, fight to move forward, and fight against negative energy along the way. If you prefer you can utter the words silently to yourself, but either way it is about severing the connection which the negative energy is trying to make with you. Now, this may not be enough to destroy the negativity entirely, but if enough people do it then that entity will begin to starve. Small victories matter…
People are beautiful and radiant, and much good can be done when we come together. But it really depends how we come together and what we bring to the party. Groups are not always bad but can easily become mindless entities which blindly amplify all the repressed emotions and resentments which are projected into them. Collect a group of angry haters together and the group will only put that anger on stilts, with the result of making the group members even more angry than when they started. Such groups become monsters which very quickly suck all the air out of a room and drain everything positive from its members. So, if we want to get anywhere with our lives, to fulfil our unique purpose so that we may, ultimately, unite with the One then we must resist these forces now, while we still can...
Identify the group that in your assessment is trying to draw you and your world into darkness and negativity and assert your right to dissent. It may be a group of which you were once a part, or one that everyone else seems to have signed up for but with which you disagree. Whatever group you choose think of its logo, name or slogans very clearly and then forcibly proclaim “I am not part of this!” Maybe you want to write the words down and underline them. Maybe you want to repeat them to yourself several times. Whatever works for you, but once you are done pause and recognise the importance of this act. You have, in no small way, forcibly asserted your freedom and independence. Feel good about this because I guarantee that you will not be the only one doing it.
